Intellectual Foundations

These models are my attempt to bring order to my thinking about the big issues that we, and in particular organisations, are facing.

I have clearly been influenced by my experience and learnings over the last 40 years from my undergraduate degree in Business Studies, my Masters in Business Administration, my many roles and positions, and not least my wide ranging reading.

I have no desire or intention to plagiarise anyone’s work and if it is found that I have inadvertently done so then I will clearly and immediately credit them. The reality is that when and where I encountered their work will often have been lost to memory over time.

Working with Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence has become an important part of my research and publishing workflow. Like many academics and researchers, I use AI as a tool to improve efficiency, explore ideas and enhance the quality of my work.

AI assists me in a number of ways, including reviewing literature, identifying relevant research, checking structure and readability, improving grammar and consistency, generating draft illustrations and graphics, and helping me test and refine emerging ideas.

Every publication, model and opinion presented on this website, however, remains my own. AI does not replace original thinking, professional judgement or academic integrity. It is used to support the research and writing process, not to determine the conclusions.

All significant models, frameworks and publications are developed through an iterative process of evidence gathering, critical evaluation, practical experience and independent judgement. Where AI contributes to graphics or drafting, all outputs are reviewed, edited and approved before publication.

I believe AI represents one of the most significant technological advances of our generation. Used responsibly, transparently and ethically, it has the potential to enhance research, improve productivity and accelerate innovation while allowing people to focus on the areas where human judgement, creativity and experience remain essential.

The purpose of these models is not complexity for its own sake. They are intended as practical tools for helping organisations think more clearly, act more responsibly, build greater resilience and create sustainable long-term value.
